Imperfect People

Good morning friends!

I am so excited to tell you that today I am doing my first ever guest post over at Imperfect People in love with a Perfect God.

I encourage you to not only stop by and read my testimony, but take time to check out the awesome site and read the stories of the many beautiful women who have shared before me. I am honored and humbled to be a part of this ministry, and would like to say a big Thank You to Katie for giving me this opportunity.

Have a blessed day!

Wow, that was beautiful. I've had such a desire to be a mother since I was very young. sometime's it's so discouraging to think about how many of the people I graduated with have 2 kids now, and I have none. sometimes I get down fearing I won't be able to have my own. But I'm also seeing God has put me in these circumstances for a reason. Maybe I don't know the full reason, but I believe he wants me free from the cares of a spouse and children so I can serve him wholly. While I hope it is just a short season in my life, I have joy in knowing he's given me other ways to put my maternal instinct to use. I don't have to subscribe to the american dream-- I don't have to participate in corporate america. God gave me the ability to love being with children even when its been 15 hours of sweat and back-breaking work, and I get to use my skills not just to fulfil my desires but to support myself.

reading your post is a comfort to me, knowing I'm not alone in this.

@Lala- It has been hard for me to put my self out there and not just put on a tough facade/happy face. I am usually a pretty private person, but when I hear that there are others out there feeling the same, and that we can encourage eachother, it really makes it worth it. Thanks for sharing :)

I read these this morning--

2 Cor 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.

Though it may seem odd to many to label this "suffering", it sure feels like it to me! What a blessing it is to serve the creator of our bodies and of our hearts! Though sometimes our desires are not in line with his plan, we can trust he will complete a good work and we can be satisfied in him.
