The Little Things

Sometimes in this crazy world I forget to take time to enjoy the beauty in the little things. Here are a few of those things for which I am thankful:

Mornings that are cool enough to wear a cardigan without melting

Kids coming in from recess covered in dirt and sweat from head to toe

First night's sleep on clean sheets

A washing machine to wash said sheets (Props to all the women in the world who hand wash their sheets. You are much stronger and tougher than I.)

Fresh cut flowers

Unexpected hugs

The colors of fall and pumpkins in every shade of orange

Learning new things

Reuniting with old friends

Conversations with my grandparents

Real mail

Popcorn

My sixty pound pitbull curling up in my lap

Airplanes

A sharp pencil, crisp white paper, and all the possibilities

A child's uncontrollable laughter

What are some of the things that you appreciate the most?

I will be unplugging for the next few days to spend some time absorbed in God's beauty and just being. Have a great weekend, and don't forget to enjoy the little things.

"A child's uncontrollable laughter"....one of the very best things....the language of angels.

I must agree with Mark -- a child's uncontrollable laughter is one of the sweetest blessings in life!

I'm grateful for your blog, soft blankets, quiet rainy mornings, the ability to read, and the availability of medicine when needed.

Thanks for sharing your list of "the little things."

I was VERY grateful today for a Saturday at home that was totally unscheduled. The first one in months! Sheer bliss!
