Great post, Rebecca. I left a comment over at Compassion, but also wanted to say something here.

In light of what I'm reading right now, this story doesn't surprise me. I also recently read Behind the Beautiful Forevers, which takes place in India, and recounts similar situations. I had already written a post for my blog to go up later today about the importance of sharing these horrible situations through personal stories rather than statistics....And then you did just that giving a great example. I love God's timing!

Jill, I just had someone recommend Behind the Beautiful Forevers to me, I will have to check it out. It really is shocking how women and children are treated in other countries...I love that you are helping to spread awareness on your blog.
